Cups and Cones, Fion, and Lakeside Pizza and Grill

September 3rd, 2007 · 2 Comments

In the new retail development in the center of Steiner Ranch there are five new developments with some to lots of activities going on to open. The first one to open will probably be Fion: Wine, beer, cigar pub. I think it will be pretty cool to have a local watering hole in Steiner Ranch. It looks pretty nice inside. Red leather booths and a darker paint scheme. Reminds me a lot of the Belmont downtown… the 50’s rat pack style.

Also ongoing is Lakeside Pizza and Grill… Nothing much to say… painting is going on and it looks to be done in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Also a new one is something that I think is a great idea that will make a killing just because of all the kids and people that love ice cream. Cups and Cones is a coffee and ice cream place serving Blue Bell Ice Cream. I would have liked a Marble Slab or Cold Stone Creamery… but beggars can’t be choosers.

Another new one is Pak-Mail. It will be nice to have a place to send packages and get packing supplies in Steiner Ranch. Now we don’t have to drive to far to get these services.

The last one that does not have a sign or anything but I looked inside and saw a clothes rack machine. So I am assuming another dry cleaner in Steiner Ranch.

Looking forward to these places opening and finding out what other new stores will open in this retail area.

Why are we getting so many duplicate services? Delicato already has ice cream. There is already a cleaners next door to Delicato. And now there are two nail salons. This can’t be good long term.

I agree on the dry cleaners and nail salon — even with the growth in Steiner, not sure we need both. The ice cream store is a different matter — Delicato serves gelato, not ice cream — those are two different market segments.
