One last road tidbit…

September 22nd, 2007 · 3 Comments

One of my co-workers I carpool with sometimes, told me why the road surface at the curve on 2222 past Cooke’s Automotive near the shell Station has been ripped up like it will be resurfaced. After a couple of fatalities on that stretch of road as evidenced by these forum posts at the city data forum. He thinks the reason they do this is to provide more traction/friction on that stretch of road to prevent future accidents. I first thought it was annoying to drive on that stretch of road with my car, but safety is key and just the noise that it makes when you drive on it will probably make you drive safer and slow down.

It sucks. I ride a motorcycle and it definitely provides less traction. I never know what the bike is going to do there so I always have to take it really slow. Is there a number we can call to complain?

    Don’t drink when you ride?

The point is to make you drive slow. They accomplished their goal.
