Ribelin Ranch

December 12th, 2007 · 3 Comments

There is a new/old development called Ribelin Ranch. (small aside is it  Ribe-lin or Rib-e-lin). It is new because it just started getting some construction on the land. It is old because everyone in Austin knows that its the land you see driving up Tumbleweed Hill (the steep hill on 2222 leading up to River Place). This is pretty nice real estate in Austin. There will be some townhomes from D. R. Horton and commercial, retail, and living components developed by Forestar. The other big development here will be the high school that the recent bond approved building. This is the high school kids from Steiner Ranch will eventually go to. I think that is the darker purple area in the picture below. I doubt LISD paid for primo land along 2222. The colors in the map below don’t make sense if all it is available commercial. Shouldn’t there be some residential? I see the construction twice a day during the week and it will be interesting to see when its finished. It is definitely the most low key of all the projects in the area.

I believe it has been estimated to be opened in around two years, so 7th Graders at Canyon Ridge middle school and below will probably be going to it (other middle schools alos im sure, i just dont know any of the other ones in the area). Only 9th graders will be attending it for its first year though.

I have heard that the high school was slated to open for the 2010-2011 school year. Don’t know how accurate that is, though.
