Got an update on some possible business’ opening in High Pointe Village.
First and most important is a movie theater which is coming to look at and approve the site. I really hope and wish it is something like an Alamo Drafthouse. I know people will go to a regular movie theater, but after having drinks and food at Alamo me and my wife have not been to a traditional movie theater in a while. We will see which type it will be, I doubt Cinemark since there is a Cinemark at the Hill Country Galleria, so either Regal or AMC.
The next three are the three pack of any strip mall in America. A liquor store, dry cleaners, and a nail salon. The nail salon is not confirmed… but I will throw that in there anyway.
There are plans also for two restaurants, a Chinese and a Mexican place. I hope for the Chinese place it is something more quasi-mainstream like Firebowl and not Panda Express, but it will end up being a mom and pop type place. As for the Mexican place, if we had a Chuy’s or Trudy’s there, I think I would be there every Friday night.
Last but not least there is plans for a Donut shop. I hope they also serve kolaches. I just started enjoying this new type of breakfast food recently and like the somewhat healthy alternative to donuts.

I like your ideas, perhaps you should ask them to let you help plan?
I for one wish we would get an Indian food restaurant in this area… something we seem to be quite lacking in out here.

I think it will be nice to have all the new retail so close to Steiner, what I am worried about is the traffic situation. You can even get in and out of the Walgreens.

I think you meant to say “You can’t even get in and out of Walgreens.” I agree… I don’t like going to Walgreens coming back from work, so I only go on the way to work so its two easy right turns.
The good/bad thing about High Pointe Village is that there will be a light when it opens, specifically for this reason. There will be another retail/lifestyle center across the road called The Venue at Lake Travis. So the good thing is we don’t have to worry about getting in/out of this place, but we do have to worry about another light on 620.

Although the Venue at Lake Travis may not happen with the city now looking at building the water plant at that site.

I back the plan for an Indian restaurant out here too… not more food diversity in this area - what happened to choice - maybe they could add another American grill?

Traffic is out control, but it they are going build something a theater might be nice, maybe Italian restaurant- like Macaroni Grill, we also lack a KFC too and auto part store near by

There’s some Italian restaurants out towards Lakeway (Hill Country Pasta House, Ciola) and auto parts stores north on 620 (by Anderson Mill). Plus, I don’t think a lot of Ranchers do their own car repair, so it probably doesn’t make a lot of business sense to open an auto parts store out here. What I would like to see is a seafood restaurant and a restaurant that serves breakfast. A Whole Foods would be great too.
