Mitch and Keely Leonard lost their home on Cowden on Tues afternoon. They have a a 9yr old boy, a 7yr old boy, and an 18mo old daughter. Thankfully no one was hurt, and they have insurance. But, they need help temporarily. Gift cards to restaurants and clothing stores are very much appreciated. To all who are interested in helping the Leonard family:
Thank you so much for the overwhelming response for this family in their time of need. I did not know the Leonard’s before yesterday, other than just in passing and waving when they would walk with their daughter or ride bikes with their boys. As you can imagine, the outpouring of support for this family was so great, and since the coordination for this effort literally happened in my front yard, I have had an overwhelming number of people tell me to let them know what the Leonard’s need. I knew someone needed to coordinate the effort, and I am happy to do so! So, thank you to all who have given already and offered to help out!
We are in the process of trying to get an update from victim’s services (of Travis Co.) who was here yesterday to help the family and left contact info with me. We have had many offers for large items and small, and we are trying to coordinate with them to find out what the family needs. If you have something to donate (furniture, clothing, toys, books, etc) please email me. I will keep your name and phone number and offer for donation on file until we are ready to accept these items. Our goal is not to accept those items if they are NOT needed but, of course, get this family what they are in immediate need for! We are still asking for any gift card donations for the family to restaurants and clothing stores as well. These will help them regardless of their living situation. Doesn’t have to be a large amount, any amount is welcome and helpful for this family!
