I got a question from a reader about the public library that residents should use. It is not the City of Austin library system as we do not pay taxes there, although we can use it for sixty dollars a year. I thought it was the Lakeway Library system but this map says it is not. Any ideas?

We’ve always gone to and been told it was the Lake Travis one, the one you have the link for. We have cards for that one and they’ve verified it’s for Steiner Residents.

Jennifer, would you happen to know how it compares to the new library at the Galleria mall?

Galleria library?
The one in Lakeway is really small, but you can get the share card, which isn’t bad. It’s a tiny library, that’s for sure.

Okay, thanks. I will check it out.
The Galleria library is at the new mall at the corner of 620 and 71.

We always go out to the Bee Caves Library in the Galleria. It’s new and everyone there is so nice. It’s really small but leaps and bounds nicer than the Lakeway library.
I wish we had a library closer….

Thanks for this information. Even though it’s a bit of a drive, it sounds like it’s well worth it to check out the Galleria one.
