I got this question from Jennifer and I referred her to Stroller Strides but wondering if there were any other groups?
We are new to Steiner Ranch and I was wondering if you know of any Mommy and Me-type playgroups that meet in the area? My son is 13 months old and he and I would love to get out and meet some of our new neighbors!

A neat gathering place is Cups and Cones (ice cream and coffee shop). A lot of parent/kid activities attract just the type of groups that you might be interested in. And, they may have information about formal groups to share with you. You can check their schedule of planned events on their web site:

The Steiner Ranch HOA website used to have a section for this, but I don’t see it on there. I would call the association and ask them.

I stay home with my 17 month old little boy named Jack on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our neighbors have a 16 mo old little boy and another neighbor has a 13 mo old little boy. They play so cute together. You should join us sometime. Just contact me. P.S. Welcome to the neighborhood…

There are at least 3 playgroups that I know of in Steiner Ranch.
Go to yahoo groups and search for Steiner Ranch
The Savannah playgroup use to be just for our neighborhood but we had so many other mom’s in Steiner with an interest that we opened it up to all mom’s in Steiner.

I found a terrific place in Lakeway on 620 that has a bunch of great classes for the kids. It’s called My Time kids gym.. we loved it. I think there website is http://www.mytimekids.com
The teachers are so good with the kids and they have a baby time class as well as ballet and cheer for my daughter. We had so much fun! Go to Randalls and they have coupons on the back of the receipt for a free 2 week trial. I am so excited because there were so many moms there from play groups.

It isn’t specific to Steiner, but check out the Austin Preschool Mother’s Club. They have lots of activites and playgroups that are divided by age. Website is http://www.austinmothers.org/

My son and I just moved to the neighborhood too. He’s 2 and a half and we’re always at the pool. It’s a great place to meet moms. Does anyone know of an existing playgroup for his age group that we might be able to join?
