Wish they had a menu up. I’m my own steakhouse (ribeye + Weber).

I agree, I would like to see their menu online! Aslo will you be scheduling any parties for the holidays? If so, when will we be able to start submitting reservations?

My husband and I are so excited about this. We have been watching the construction anxiously. I think this is going to be a great addition to Steiner!

I would love to see a menu! I’m always up for a great new restaurant. Especially it being a steakhouse….

Menu is up. No prices, but it’s up.
Talked to the bar manager last night and he said they are shooting for a soft opening Nov. 26th.
Looks great up there and so does the menu.
I think they are going to have quite the wait list when they finally do open!

I ate at the steakhouse last night a group of 12. We enjoyed everything that we had, even though it is a bit pricey. To be expected, however, if I am going to spend that much money I’d rather make the trek downtown to Sullivans, Ruth’s Chris, Parry’s or any of a dozen other steakhouses. The wine and food menus were rather standard, and had no real surprises in any way. The building is beautiful and there are bars on every floor. A good experience, if not overwhelmingly impressive. I’ll go back for sure…but maybe just for drinks.

My wife and I ate at Steiner on Friday night. The wait was quit long, so we opted to dine in the bar area. We were promptly greeted by Angalee. She was extremely friendly, personable and laid back (something that is refreshing in an upscale establishment). She recommended the Elk Toronados, which were very good. The bread was good as well. My wife ordered an 8 oz MR filet and I went for the 10 MR oz filet. Unfortunately, mine came out Medium and hers Mid-well. To the Ranches credit, the steaks did have a great flavor and were tender. Angalee immediately offered to have new and correct steaks cooked for us. We declined, and she sent a manager right over.
I hate to say that if we had not had such a wonderful server, the evening would have been a total disappointment.
Excellent service but disappointing steaks.

My husband and I went there for dinner the first night they opened. We got there around 4:30 and there were hardly any other customers (the entire time we were there). We were seated in a corner which obstructed our view and the stereo system was blasting above our head. We asked if the music could be turned down a little bit and the manager did that. But then the air conditioner started blowing cold air full blast right at us and they couldn’t seem to get that resolved, so we were freezing. Oh well, it was their first night, so some kinks are to be expected. Since they were not busy it would have been nice if we were seated in a better spot with a nice view (none of the window seats were occupied while we were there). Our steaks were excellent, but nothing else was really that good. We would have liked a nice baked potato, but all they offer is bland mashed potatoes. Our bill for one appetizer, two entrees, one side of creamed corn, one Caesar salad, and one soda (my husband drank water) came to $96. The wait staff was friendly and tried to bend over backwards to please us. However, the meal was disappointing because of the high price and the limited selection (and the quality of the side dishes). I doubt that we will be going back (unless they upgrade the menu), which is a shame because we really looked forward to having a good steak house in our community.

My neighbor ate at the Steakhouse the last week of November. He said that the steaks were unremarkable, and not worth the money. He brought home a doggy bag and let his dog chew on the bone from one of the steaks. The next day he and the dog both had the runs. If you want the best steak in town, go to Costco and buy the Filet Minon. They come fresh in packs of 4 andthey are 3 to 4 inches thick. It cost $26.00 to $32.oo for FOUR steaks. Marinate them in Worchester and Montreal Steak Seasoning (from H.E.B.). Cook them over a high heat flame for 1 minute on each side, then move them to a medium heat flame for 9 minutes on one side then 8 minutes on the other. This will give you a very red medium rare steak. If you want them a little more medium then move them back over the higher heat flame and flip them every minute about 4 times. This will result in a steak better than any high end steakhouse in Austin. And don’t try to get the meat from H.E.B., Whole Foods ,Randalls etc.. For some reason Costco has the best cuts of meat in town, and I have looked everywhere.

Is the Steiner Ranch Steakhouse open today (Tuesday December 8, 2008) in light of yesterday’s fatal employee-related shooting on the premesis? If not, does anybody know when the steakhouse will re-open if ever?

This restaurant should be renamed Lakeview Lodge. The shooting killing stima wil haunt this establishment if it does not change its name. I can’t bring my self to go yet.
