The Steiner Ranch John Simpson Pool and community center has been a main stay in the community for many years. If you have driven by lately you may have noticed that the pool is undergoing some major renovations. The park sits on a beautiful tract of land and is home for the community mail boxes, a common meeting place, play areas, and a Olympic size pool. The pool is home for several swim teams and offers tons of summertime enjoyment by Steiner Ranch residents.
Originally, the pool had a large wood deck that surrounds 60% of the pools perimeter. Over the years, the deck area was increased, a large pavilion added for some shade, and the deck surface changed from wood to a plastic pool decking. The Steiner Ranch HOA decided this year that the pool was finally in need of a major facelift. The enhancements will add a large splash area on one end for the little ones to play in and a complete new deck for the lounge area around the pool. All to be ready for the spring season. Very exciting for the community and swimmers!!
Archadeck of Austin, a leading supplier of outdoor living construction for over 10 years, has been chosen for the decking part of the project which is now underway and will be complete in the next few weeks. The project involved removing all the previous material which was donated to Habitat for Humanity then reframing the structure to current framing standards to eliminate the unlevel surface which could have caused tripping hazards around the pool. On top of the new framing will be a Cedar colored wood fiber composite material made by Timbertech that has a natural wood finish.
This material is a very low maintenance product made of recycled wood by-products and formed into a composite that is covered by a 25-year residential warranty and 10-year commercial warranty. The products are guaranteed against termites, checking, splitting, decay, rot and splintering. Surrounding the deck, the existing iron railing system will be reused but enhanced by adding metal posts and a consistent height where the existing rails have been patched together and inconsistent in heights.
Archadeck is very proud to have been chosen for this project, as we have supplied hundreds of fabulous backyards in the Steiner Ranch area and across Central Texas. We really appreciate the opportunity to do this for the community and thank you for your business.
