I got a few emails and had a dinner conversation on how terrible the road that leads from the secondary entrance of Steiner Ranch from 620 to Quinlan Park Road on Steiner Ranch Blvd. I was surprised to see that other people were so annoyed with it as I was. For the people that don’t take a left turn at the “first” Steiner Ranch entrance to avoid the light to go to Oasis and then a couple of light changes at Quinlan and 620, you might not appreciate the second entrance. I think a lot of people, including me, see the light turn red at Comanche Trail and then turn left at the second entrance. Now it is like playing slalom trying to get your car to drive right over the 1 foot strip of tar that is in the middle of the lane and not have your tires hit it and ruin your drive home.
The first question is why?
I think that is spelled out in the latest edition of the Ranch Record.
Steiner Steakhouse –Site development is underway including site
utilities and grading, plus a wastewater force main down Steiner
Ranch Blvd for the steakhouse to be constructed on Steiner Ranch
Blvd, near RM 620. This site offers spectacular views of Lake
Travis and the hill country. Opening should be in late 2008.
So there you have it, and knowing how things work in general, I don’t see this getting fixed. I will ask around and see what people say, but don’t hold your breath.
UPDATE:
I emailed Sharon, our neighborhood coordinator, and got the email address of the Steiner Steakhouse Contact. She has this as a response.
After speaking to the contractor, the lane where the trench was dug on Steiner Ranch Blvd will be resurfaced, weather permitting, within the next week to 10 days. Please let me know if you have additional questions.
So my faith is restored, things that need to get fixed will get fixed.
Another thing.. in the comments a member of the Steiner family had a comment. I agree with him/her they sell the land to Taylor Woodrow/Morrison and they decide what gets done.
